Job Description
5BY5 Engineers is looking to add a Senior Mechanical Engineer to our team. The Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for managing MEP system projects and engineering HVAC systems with an emphasis on healthcare and building infrastructure projects. This position requires coordination and management of clients and contractors to understand the project goals, design innovative solutions and overcome challenges encountered during construction and commissioning.

Responsibilities
Conducting regular meetings with clients to provide troubleshooting and engineering help in any capacity requested.
Design and management of traditional MEP system construction drawings and contract documents.
Evaluations of existing mechanical systems utilizing as-built drawings to figure out what was and wasn’t working on the original system.
Providing recommendations for HVAC system improvements and/or adjustments (i.e. AHUs, chillers, boilers, pumps, etc.).
Construction management activities including estimating, phasing, and soliciting contractors, etc.
Coordinating with clients and contractors to execute projects.
Utilizing Revit and AutoCAD Software.
Equipment evaluations and replacement design.
Design of HVAC temperature control systems and associated sequences of operation.
Participate in regular provided training.
Requirements
Professional Engineer with 6+ years’ experience
Experience with HVAC system design
Ability to explain complex concepts in layman’s terms
Ability to manage and/or design 5 or more projects at a time
Ability to work with and help develop junior engineers
Desire to constantly learn and improve
